Three Weeks!

  Hi... I'm Derek!

Well neighbors today is very exciting for me. Today starts the three week countdown to the release of the first episode of Grim Worlds! If you haven't gone to your favorite Podcast-Collecting-Application and subscribed to the show - here's your chance! (iTunes is still gumbly but hopefully will be fixed later today)

Here's the RSS feed - https://anchor.fm/s/462f8654/podcast/rss

April 16 2021 will see the launch of "The Guardian" - a story written by me, Derek Olson, and inspired by a good friend Erin Fiser. It's a good introduction to the style and projection of things to come, but it still only a start.

It is amazing to me all the things I've learned in just a short time of working on this podcast. From teaching myself about the recording equipment and mixing software - to teaching myself voice acting and narration techniques - to learning some cool new mixing techniques with every episode I've finished - and even to figuring out the submission process of getting this podcast connected to iTunes (more involved than I assumed - and there you go!)

It will be interesting by the end of the 12 episode season to see the progress of technique and experimentation. An audible bell curve?

The other amazing thing has been the generous communication I've had with anyone who has volunteered their time or resources. Authors especially but right up there (and maybe more important) the musicians. I'd be remiss if I didn't feel grateful to my beta-listeners, several of whom dedicated a couple hours listening to the first episode several times over in detail.

It is crazy how a project like this takes over someone's life. I have every hope that it finds an audience and does well, but in the end I'm enjoying it enough that if we end up with negative 3 listeners I will still be happy and proud.

I will make an update on the next week counting down the 2 weeks to go. Look for a tour of the current studio - named The Quiet Box. Until then - for Reason and Passion - I'm Derek Olson and I want to thank you for listening and reading.

Be Well.
